Passage: 1 Samuel 9

Join us as our lead pastor, Jonathan Brooks, teaches on 1 Samuel 9. In this life, our challenge is to trust the Lord’s skill to weave the tapestry of our lives for the glory of his name, even when we can’t see the full picture he’s creating.

One of the ways we can build our confidence in the Lord’s handiwork is by seeing him at work in the lives of his people in the Old Testament. Romans 15:4 tells us,  “4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” So, in 1 Samuel 9, the veil is pulled back on what seems to be an ordinary, frustrating three days in Saul’s life only to see that it was the glorious work of the Lord all along. As we see this veil pulled back, we will be reminded that God is no less actively involved in the events of our lives for the glory of his name.
