Psalm 77

Psalm 77 reminds us that God invites His people to bring their deepest grief, doubts, and frustrations honestly before Him. This psalm shows us the biblical practice of lament; crying out to God in pain is not a lack of faith, but wounded faith still turning toward the Lord. As the psalm progresses, the focus shifts from despair to remembering God’s proven faithfulness throughout redemptive history, especially His deliverance of His people and ultimately the cross of Jesus. Even when God feels distant, believers can find hope by looking to the cross as the unchanging reminder of His steadfast love and covenant faithfulness.

  1. Cry out to God with honesty (1-9).
  2. Remember that God has already proven his faithfulness (10-20).
