Psalm 115

In Psalm 115, we are reminded that when life is difficult and the world mocks our faith, our confidence must rest in the character of God and not in our circumstances. We need to remember God’s commitment to His own glory, His absolute sovereignty, His faithfulness to His promises, and His desire to be worshiped forever by His people. While idols and worldly securities ultimately fail, our God reigns from heaven and works all things for His glory and for the eternal good of those who trust Him. Because of Christ, God’s promises are secure, and believers can look forward with hope to an eternity of joyful worship in the new heavens and new earth.

  1. Our confidence is in God’s commitment to God’s glory (1-2).
  2. Our confidence is in God’s sovereignty (3-8).
  3. Our confidence is in God’s commitment to his promises (9-16).
  4. Our confidence is in God’s desire to be worshiped forever (17-18).
