Luke 9:46-62

In Luke 9:46–62, Jesus challenges his disciples to embrace the values of his kingdom rather than the priorities of the world. True greatness is found through humility, kingdom work should produce gratitude rather than jealousy, and Christ’s followers are called to abound in grace and mercy—even toward those who reject them. As Jesus sets his face toward Jerusalem and the cross, he demonstrates that he came not to destroy his enemies but to lay down his life so that the gospel might extend to the nations. Ultimately, following Jesus requires making him the priority of our lives.
