In Luke 11:1-13 we have the privilege of sitting at the feet of Jesus as he teaches us how to pray. He reveals what we should pray, how we should pray, and the character of the one to whom we’re praying. He tells us that the content of our prayers must have a godward focus that also express our need for daily dependance on him. He then encourages us to pursue consistency in our prayer life, never hesitating to keep pleading with the Lord over and over again. Finally, he grounds the confidence of our prayers on the character of the Father, reminding us that we call out to a good and faithful father who generously gives us all that we need for life and godliness. Ultimately, Jesus invites us to glorify God by displaying our daily dependance on him through a life of consistent prayer.
