Luke 10:17-24

In Luke 10:17-24 the seventy two disciples return from the mission trip Jesus sent them on filled with joy. They were joyful because of the success and fruitfulness of their ministry; that even the demons were subject to them in the name of Jesus. Hearing their report, Jesus desired to encourage them and, at the same time, guard them against spiritual pride. In an act of mercy and grace toward them he reminded them that they are completely dependent on him and he deserves all the glory and praise. So, Jesus gave them three important reminders to help them pursue humility in the midst of fruitful success. He wanted to remind them that the Triune God is the source of every good thing:
