Passage: 1 Samuel 25

Join us as our lead pastor, Jonathan Brooks, teaches on 1 Samuel 25. We know the enemy David faces in this chapter well. We face the same enemy every day. But, here’s the really good news from this chapter. God is no less able to defeat this enemy than the 9-foot Philistine standing across the valley mocking the armies of the living God. God will also fight for us and with us against this enemy, just as he does for David in chapter 25. I want us to see that the Lord is able to protect us from the enemy of sin and temptation.

So, this chapter gives us three helpful guidelines to trust in the Lord’s help as we battle against sin. The Lord wants us to:
  1. Recognize the sinful temptation to be like God (1-13)
  2. Accept faithful rebuke as a gift from the Lord (14-35)
  3. Trust the Lord’s justice (36-39)
