Passage: 1 John 4:7-12

Join us as our lead pastor, Jonathan Brooks, teaches on 1 John 4:7-12.

There is a radical love we are called to have for our brothers and sisters in Christ that demonstrates we belong to God, have been adopted as his children, and have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. This is the argument John makes in 1 John 4:1-7: He is telling us that love for fellow Christians should be a defining characteristic of followers of Jesus.
We are going to see the three reasons why this should be true:
  1. Love proceeds from knowing God. (7-8)
  2. Love is motivated by the incarnation. (9-11)
  3. Love displays the unseen God. (12)
