Passage: 1 Corinthians 3:10-17

Join us as our pastor, Jonathan Brooks, teaches on 1 Corinthians 3:10-17.

God loves his church and cares deeply about the church. Therefore, he also cares about how we build and sustain his church. We are often far too casual with the church of the living God. This passage is a direct challenge to that mentality. As Paul develops this metaphor of the church being God’s building, we will see just how weighty it is to be a local church. He cares about the foundation that is laid, he cares about how we build his church, and he cares about how we care for and sustain his church. So, let’s look at verses 10-17 and see how God wants us to build his church.
  1. We must have Jesus as the foundation of the church. (10-11)
  2. We must build the church with enduring material. (12-15)
  3. We must care for and protect the church. (16-17)
