In Luke 2:1-21, we find that the long-awaited birth of Jesus Christ reveals the power, glory, and grace of the Most High God. It is good news of great joy that produces obedient faith in the hearts of those who fear him. Jesus Christ and his birth is presented to us in this story in the following 3 ways:

  • Jesus Christ was born through the ordinary means of God’s sovereignty (1-7).
  • Jesus Christ was exalted with the good news of God’s favor (8-14).
  • Jesus Christ was treasured by the faithful responses of God’s people (15-21).
