Passage: 1 Samuel 4
Join us as our lead pastor, Jonathan Brooks, teaches on 1 Samuel 4. We will see the word of the Lord coming to pass as he carries out his sovereign judgment on his people.
In this sermon, you will learn that God’s judgment and wrath take two different forms. There is the Passive Wrath of God, where he doesn’t intervene and allows people to continue to spiral downward in their sin. And, there is the Active Wrath of God, where he carries out divine punishment.
It may not be pleasant to think or talk about, but it’s necessary so that we avoid walking down the same path they did. As 1 Corinthians 10:6 tells us, “Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did.” So, let us be warned and not desire evil as they did as we meditate on the passive and active wrath of God.
